Whether you are young or old, poor or rich, athletic or lazy, don’t worry because Tallinn has plenty of things to do. Here are just some of them.
Room Escape GamesRoom escape games are extremely popular in Tallinn and there are large variety of rooms you can escape from. The rooms are very innovative and interesting, filled with different puzzles to solve. You can find all the different exit rooms gathered on one website.
Another really popular sport In Estonia as it is a great way to spend time in the nature with your friends and be active at the same time. Disc golf is basically throwing a disc from starting area toward a target. If you don’t throw the disc in first time, then you throw it again from the landing position of the disc until the target is reached. Here are all the locations where you can find different tracks (you can also rent discs from Nõmme and Pirita).
Bogs and mires are really important in Estonian folklore, and they are seen as places of mystery and peace. The flora and fauna in these areas is like nowhere else, with many unique animal and plant species present. Bog walking for example is a popular mode of hiking in Estonia and there are plenty of companies that offer bog-shoeing hikes all year round. You can even go swimming in some of the bogs! The closest bog to Tallinn is in Pääsküla.
Despite having 0 mountains in Estonia, we have quite many options for doing winter sports. Yes, I am not kidding, we really don’t have any mountains in Estonia, only hills! During winter times you can rent ski equipment at Nõmme Spordikeskus for a couple of euros and there are snowboarding centers with artificial snow in Viimsi and Nõmme as well.
If you are like an average student and don’t have money to spend on things other than the club ticket to Mynt and some chicken noodles than you can chill in the countless parks all around Tallinn. Have a picnic with fellow Erasmus student or try your luck on Tinder and go for a walk in one of the parks.
And of course, who can forget about clubbing. Although during the week days the club scene can be quiet, there are usually many events happening with Erasmus students who you usually might find on Wednesdays at Club Hollywood or Club Mynt. So if you are an Erasmus student then you should definitely keep an eye on the ESN Tallinn group. Going bar hopping is always a good idea, as there are tons of cool bars you can visit
So these were some of my favorite things to do in Tallinn and there really is something for everyone. Of course if you have a bigger budget than its way easier to find activities but if not, you will still not get bored easily.
Our rooms usually get booked really quick in Tallinn so if you don’t want to miss out, you have to be fast.
